Create your first dynamic QR code

A five-minute walkthrough from sign-up to a working, trackable QR code you can print anywhere and edit later.

This guide takes you from a new account to a working dynamic QR code that you can print, share, and edit at any time.

Before you start

A dynamic QR code points at a short redirect URL that you control, rather than encoding your destination directly. That is what lets you change where it goes after printing and see how many people scan it. If you want the background, read how dynamic QR codes work.

Step 1: Create the QR code

  1. Sign in and open your dashboard.
  2. Go to QR codes and choose Create QR code.
  3. Give it a clear internal name (for example, "Spring poster — front entrance"). This name is for you; customers never see it.
  4. Paste the destination URL — the page you want people to land on.

Step 2: Brand it (optional but recommended)

A branded code earns more scans because it looks trustworthy:

  • Set your brand colour for the code modules.
  • Add your logo to the centre.
  • Choose a frame or call-to-action label such as "Scan for menu".

Keep contrast high — a dark code on a light background scans most reliably.

Step 3: Save and export

  1. Save the code.
  2. Export it as SVG for print (it scales to any size without blurring) or high-resolution PNG for digital use.
  3. Place it on your design, leaving a clear margin (the "quiet zone") around it.

Step 4: Test before you print

Always scan the final artwork at the size and distance it will be used, with more than one phone. A two-minute test prevents an expensive reprint.

Step 5: Edit the destination any time

Because the code is dynamic, you can change where it points without reprinting:

  1. Open the QR code in your dashboard.
  2. Edit the destination URL and save.
  3. The next scan resolves to the new page within seconds.

What to do next

Once your code is live, scans start appearing in your analytics. Learn what the numbers mean in understanding your analytics, and if you are running a campaign, read QR campaigns that convert.
